RiseMalawi is a ministry founded and run my Malawians, Zamumtima (Za) Chijere and Tinashe Saka. We focus on marginalized people who are forgotten by society. We work with children who live in poverty. We reach out to girls who face not only discrimination when it comes to education, work and health, but also a cultural norm that allows child marriage and sexual and physical violence. We validate the life of the underprivileged by empowering them to have a say in the decisions that shape their lives. In our work, we resist handouts in favor of programs that allow individuals to become self-reliant and independent. We live to help communities find lasting solutions to their challenges. We ultimately strive to close the gap between the poor and rich, as well as facilitate equity in the community.
What We Do
–Provide academic achievement in a learning environment rich in love, hope, and structure, that challenges students to attain high academic standards.
–Equip children with leadership empowerment skills by providing them with opportunities to lead and grow in experience.
–Support spiritual growth through evangelism, discipleship, Bible studies, singing, prayers, games and group discussions on faith-related issues.
–Improve health and physical well-being through structured games, sporting activities and other physical activities. In addition, carry out HIV/AIDS intervention programs to promote abstinence and reduce the number of orphans.
–Create economic independence by identifying job opportunities and completing basic training to enable economic stability.
–Sustain a socially healthy environment in which children interact with each other and the staff with role modeling and mentoring as a requirement.
–Provide an environment that encourages creativity in arts, crafts, drama, dance, music and other fields.
-Advocate for children and create awareness of their plight in Malawi. Through community involvement with organizations, churches, individuals, groups and non- governmental organizations, increase dialogue that encourages government intervention in the areas of education, social and physical development, leadership empowerment and economic independence.
